As more and more states implement emergency shutdowns, these may cause severe delays in education verifications and criminal research. We are already starting to see courthouse and school closings begin across the U.S.
The good news is that many of these records are available digitally, and in these instances, research times will not be affected. Digital criminal record availability varies per state. There are many colleges and universities that utilize a third-party database for degree verifications. So, rest assured that we will complete all searches in the most efficient manner possible during this difficult time.
Recently, the chief justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court ordered the state’s court system to mostly shut down, effective March 16th through April 10th. Kentucky does not provide online access to their records so we are anticipating all criminal research in the state to stop until the order has been lifted.
If any of your background checks are affected by these shutdowns, we will contact you directly and keep the system up-to-date with log notes (viewable on Fastrax®).
We will continue with updates as news develops and the situation changes.
